Regular Season Local Rules

These are the local rules for all regular season Western Little League games.

They do not replace the Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies published by Little League Baseball, which are available on the FREE Rulebook App. Managers and coaches should be familiar with the rules of Little League Baseball.  These supplemental rules are intended only to augment, clarify, and emphasize. These are the division rules to follow. 

Team Managers are not authorized to agree to informal rules changes amongst themselves.  If managers think a rule change is necessary, email a written request to [email protected] with the subject ATTN: Umpire in Chief—Rule Change

RULES FAQs

Q:  Can pitchers wear sunglasses while pitching?
A:  Yes.

Q:  Is there a must-slide rule?
A:  No, read rule 7.08 (3).

Q:  Is a head-first slide permitted in the Major Division and below?
A:  No, read rule 7.08 (3) or Appendix B Safety Code.  Runners may dive head-first when returning to a base.

Q:  Is a base runner automatically out if caught leaving the base early?
A:  No, read rule 7.13 (a).

Q:  Are intentional walks allowed?
A:  Yes, with notes/limitations; read rule 6.08 (2)
